Air traffic controllers handle aircraft takeoffs and landings
as well as aircraft ground movements through a 360° panning
photo-realistic background. Traffic loads, situations and emergencies
can all be created in a tower sim and hazardous scenarios can be
replicated to aid the student's training without any danger.

The tower sim replicates the training of an air
traffic controller which includes issuing commands to aircraft
departing the runway, to maintaining a sufficient gap between aircraft
landing and taking off. ATC sims allow air traffic controllers
to practice their skills of situational awareness, decision-making
and communication.
XPI Simulation can provide an advanced 3D view out of the tower
simulation system with photo-realistic databases. XPI Simulation's
in-house databasing team has the ability to create detailed models
of runways, taxiways, aprons, aircraft, vehicles, obstructions
and airport buildings that feature in the scenarios.
XPI Simulation also provides numerous weather effects such as
rain, snow, fog and cloud as well as adjustable time of day. XPI
Simulation products allow the databases to offer a high number
of moving aircraft and vehicles without a performance penalty.
The new simulator which is being used to train ATC trainees at
the Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) in Allahabad, India uses
Fabriano image generators running on Vega Prime software.
