FLEETCOR engaged with XPI during the summer of 2018 to explore how driver training delivered via simulation could prove beneficial to their drivers and company as a cost effective alternative to traditional on-road interventions. Having decided to progress, a package of scenarios was agreed, which included Hazard Perception, Fatigue Awareness, Distracted Driving and Emergency Reactions.

During Q4 of 2018 XPI delivered the training on-site at FLEETCOR’s offices in Swindon and Meriden over the course of four days with in excess of 60 drivers receiving the training.

The programme was followed up by issuing course reports and gathering feedback from the attendees, which showed a very positive response to this new technology, with the vast majority of delegates rating the training Excellent/Good.

FLEETCOR track their collision rates closely and following the training, they were delighted to have already seen some really positive results with just a single fault accident recorded in Q1 2019 against 6, 7 and 8 fault accidents in the Q1s of their three previous years respectively.

The training was deemed to be a success and are looking to follow up this success with further engagement during ²⁰¹⁹⁄₂₀.
